I just learned that, apparently "ingurgitating" is an actual word.

Or at least Neal Stephenson and his editors think so.

I didn't know it was cromulent, either
So do Merriam-Webster and all the online dictionaries.

When i first saw your post, i assumed this was a Stephenson-coined play on regurgitating. Even if it was, ingurgitating's meaning is fairly clear.

He used it to refer to an empty ship being struck with something like a meteorite and the water "ingurgitating" into the hull as it sank. I think you and I both have great vocabularies and that was an entirely new one for me.
