Today is beautiful. Indian summer has finally fucked the hell off. It's in the 60s, sunny, windy, and the leaves are beginning to turn in earnest. It's all breezes and windchimes and it's nice. Or rather was until the guy who lives behind us started tearing down his toolshed. It's metal. So it's been 3 hours of him dismantling it by smashing at the rivets. And he's not using a hammer. He's using the blunt end of a hatchet. This is the same mid to late 60's year old man who I accidentally saw peeing in his yard, who will often just stand outside and look at the tree he planted, and who sometimes does a tai-chi kata in the early morning standing barefoot on the grass.

We have a toolshed just like the one he's tearing down and it's rusted and falling apart. So now I'm curious what he'll do with the sheet metal. Watching the way he's reused everything in his yard over and over... I'm picturing some sort of shanty house.
