(no subject)

The Water heater wasn't leaking. The repair guys said it was bone dry. They didn't want any beer, despite the piercings and the tell tale large shamrock tatoo on the back of the one guy's hand. He prefers mixed drinks.
The condensate line was leaking ALL OVER the inside of the furnace.
The furnace guy also pointed out the cracked heat exchanger... which in the winter would mean he'd be obligated to disable it and not allow it to run. Cracked heat exchanger = new furnace.
$6000 for a new furnace and outside AC unit.
That's *with* the 10% discount and taking out the $99 I had to pay for the visit yesterday.
We cleared the clogged drain with liquid plumber last night... no more lake of water. It all drained immediately.

Good: We get a refund of the $400+ installation fee from the water heater guys ($299 for installation, $85 becuase it's a 75 gallon heater, a two man job, and then $20 for the permit that Fairfax requires for removing and installing natural gas water heaters).
Good: No more lake and I don't have to bail water twice a day.

Bad: $6000 for a furnace and outside AC Unit.
Bad: I still have to clean out the rest of the basement and scrub the nasty nasty cat pee floor as well as cut up and dispose of the rug, get two boxsprings and two matresses out of the basement and to the front of the house for trash pick up, which is going to have to wait until *next* thursday becuase I'm just not up for it today.
Bad: Study. From. Hell.
Bad: Adjusting to new pills doesn't make me emotional, it makes me mad for no reason at nothing.

It's not really balanced, but at least I can put SOMETHING in the "good" column... which I really couldn't earlier this week.
