Jul. 4th, 2002

So, I was watching Attack of the Killer Tomatoes earlier today and I realized that the name "Mason Dixon" is probably one of the funniest names I've ever heard of in a parody/humor movie.

Also, I tried to get people to watch it because it was requested to be watched.

I must have missed the point where everyone asked you to pop in a dvd.

At least that's what I gather when you tell me that stuff I've mentioned as just a possible way of looking at things (not even mine in some cases) is "pompous film snob bulldada", because it happens to be not your view.

You gather incorrectly. You do that a lot, Dave. It's pompous film snob bulldada because, well, that's what I think it is. So that's what I call it. "Just a possible way of looking at it."
Trying to out obscure everyone in the room with just how gosh darn much you know about movies. I feel the same way about people who bring up obscure comic references when someone mentions Sandman or obscure book rundowns if someone talks about a damned Chuck Palanhiuk novel.
It's snobbery.

Didn't you tell me I was a wine snob for calling wild vines crap and talking about what I don't like in wines? You thought I was being pompous and overblown and attempting to be impressive.
Now wouldn't the above things fit that definition?

Oh, yeah, while we're on the subject, you appear to mean "bullshit" rather than "buldada" which, as far as I know, has a rather different meaning.

From the SubGenius site, Pamphlet #8 :
"Bulldada is the nearly unexplainable label for that mysterious quality that impregnates ordinary things with meaning for the SubGenius no matter how devoid of value they may appear to The Others."

Makes perfect contextual sense to me. Any punctuation you'd like to go back and correct? Spellings perhaps? Wouldn't want to annoy you with imprecision.

And, of course, I'm sure that what I'm saying now is just more of the same, so fuck it.

Good idea.

Ok. I'm going to say this just one more time. The "wine snob" comment was not a considered analysis. It was me kidding around. I also note that you took great umbrage at it, while my mild offence at being called a snob here appears to be deemed inappropriate.

I knew reading lj today was a mistake. I'm done now.

Way to miss yet another point, Dave.

I didn't take great umbrage to your inane "wine snob" comment. You've yet to see me take 'great umbrage' to anything you've said or done.

You can feel free to feel as offended as you please over my calling you a snob. Get pissed off, throw a hissy fit, cry and scream and bitch and moan. ::shrug::
It's no skin off my teeth.

I'm still curious as to who asked you to put in a movie while we were all at Karl's.
