Now this...

Is just somehow spooky and... disconcering... and .... ick.
just ick.
Trent Reznor with Roger Waters talking to Revolver magazine. And Waters is so generally... derogatory and unimpressed the whole time.
I wonder what that must be like.... meeting an idol only to have them shit on you.
This was after The Fragile came out. Which is unfortunate. Had it been during production he could have blamed it's very poor quality on having his hopes and dreams shattered by the jaded old pseudo rock star...

He's *allowed* to be unimpressed.
And he's not derogatory. He's old. Waters went through exactly the same sort of thing that Reznor did, only he did it, what, ten years ago now? when his first solo album (whose title I can't recall, but I can see the cover in my head) came out. And he's remembering, "yeah, not hitting Number 1 on the charts looked so BIG at the time, but now I see that it wasn't, really." And, he's right. If Reznor doesn't have a few hundred thou socked away by now, he's a fuckin' idiot, which he doesn't generally seem to be, so why should he care if his album is a Big Hit?

One of the major reasons that Waters left pink floyd was his ego.

It shows.

Not that I think he doesn't have a reason for it or he's being unjust.. it's just funny. Because to people my age, Reznor is usually treated with either total scorn or total awe, but rarely like an idiot kid. And that's a lot of the tone that Waters takes with him. I don't care if it's justified or not.. it's still funny and odd.
