alright.. help me out.. I'm researching music equipment. Headphones. I want a pair of good ones. It's not urgent because I'm willing to take the research time to find Juuuuuuuust the right ones.
I fully expect them to be expensive, so that's no big deal either.
I'd rather have quality than just another "for right now" set because I'm tired of feeling like I'm only really getting parts of the music.

So ... I was looking at some Koss Pro-4AA headphones... I dunno if I like them, the reviews say they're heavy, but they've got the full ear coverage and the full pad, which I prefer for sound blocking and it's usually more comfortable.
I'd like some that aren't disgustingly heavy, but at the same time, I'd prefer something that isn't plastic crap.

I'm looking for actual really high quality, studio grade headphones. If you have any ideas, reccomendations, what have you, I'd be more than happy to hear them.

I wish I could help ya but since my headphones are used only with my laptop, I settle with the $20-30 range. The laptop sound is decent but not that great so anythign bigger would be a waste. I have Koss TD-61 headphones I use at work with the laptop or MP3 player. It has the full ear coverage and helps block out the office sound but still lets some in so I'm not ignoring people. The sound is ok, but it is a kinda thin.

Have you tried posting this in one of the dj or audio communities? I bet they could help you out.

I posted this here becuase I know there are a couple music junkies on my friends list and usually, the opinions of people I know are a tad more tailored to what I use things for.

And I find that people in highly specialized communities tend to be shits to anyone who isn't trying to be the biggest kid in the sandbox.
Like, I'd never go to a perl community and ask a question. In their need to appear superior to one another, the geeks would turn into raging assholes and lord their knowledge over me rather than answering my question. (just an example)
