So.. having a bad week already for lots of little reasons was really capped today by walking into the basement to grab clean clothes out of the dryer for Karl to wear to work , hitting some random wet spot on the floor, slipping and falling in a way that made me take all my weight directly on my left knee.

Karl has stayed home today to help with basics (like taking the dog out) and I've been trying to walk around a lot to keep the muscles moving, becuase letting it stiffen up is the last thing I need.

Getting out of bed tomorrow morning is going to be interesting.

And ya know.. it's only wednesday.

So, is this, like, a *real* knee injury? If so, see doctors. Don't mess around with the knees, that's what I say.

Having your knee be sort of a floating, only-loosely-connected set of separate parts, instead of the usual this-is-all-just-a-hinge-in-the-bone feeling, is just oogy. Oooooogy.

Yeah I know. That's how my knees (espcially the right one) are normally. I've inhereted a nice set of degenrative knee issues from my grandmother, who now has fake ones.
My sister is well on her way to them and I'd really like to see if cortizone is all it's cracked up to be once I get some insurance that might cover such a thing.

It's nice knowing you make enough money to end up paying the federal and state governments thousands and thousands and thousands of dollars (after the fact becuase your employer carries you as a non employee), but to still not be rich enough for health insurance.

Cortisone is okay, but the side effects are not good. Anyway these days they seem to want to do more with laparoscopy. Get right in there, tighten up all the bolts, that kind of thing.

I have a horrible feeling (just from the general *feel* of what's going on in there) that I don't have much in the way of bolts to tighten. I know that there isn't a lot of whole cartilidge, but I don't think I've ever had it properly looked at, just seen the look of "OWH WOW" on the doctor's face when he puts the stethscope on it and makes me bend and unbend.

If you put your hand on my knee and I move it.. the feeling in your palm is like the feeling of pop rocks in your mouth.
I made Karl do it once.
He made "uuuAUuaugh" noises for awhile after and won't ever let me do it again.
