There's no doubt in my mind that Zim is inspired by Calvin of "Calvin & Hobbes" fame. He spends all his time dreaming of galactic conquest while trapped in the mundane reality of an elementary school classroom. He has an animal buddy and a striped red shirt. But there, the similarities end. "Calvin & Hobbes" has a soul, and this does not.
Hehe. YEAH. Critical thinkings...man... you really cracked the deep and OBVIOUS implications there.
Between stuff like this and these message board things from "fans" of Jhonen Vasquez saying that he's lazy, doesn't appreciate his fans, and needs to get off his ass and stop trying to milk Zim to death (while simultaneously claiming that he didn't do enough with Zim, that he should have made a movie, etc.) I am reminded once more why I can never look to anyone else's opinion on anything.
Apparently it's LAZINESS and lack of respect for his fans that is causing Jhonen to say that, no, he isn't going to do anymore JtHM. Nevermind that most of them just found/ started reading his comics recently, this past year... nevermind that the "Director's cut" book of JTHM was published in '97... fuck the hell out of him for not wanting to pick up where he left off 7 years ago.
I should have waiting for some brain stimulating cofee before attempting sarcasm. Or things.
