They changed "Just like a black girl should" to "just like I knew you would" for all of the many uses of it in commercials. The Rolling Stones have been great at selling their music for maximum money. I'm not a fan. They just kind of leave me cold. Even the oldest albums (the last several don't bear mentioning, they're so bad) just don't do it for me. And while I appreciate a well crafted pop song when I hear it - don't go thinking I dislike the Rolling Stones because I'm a Beatles fan.
Though I will say that there is a measure of meaning in the age old "Elvis or the Beatles" question. People who are Beatles fans will say that if you liked Elvis more it's because you're a hick. And people who are Elvis fans will say that if you liked the Beatles more you're just into catchy trendy stuff.
Anyway. Take a look at the lyrics and see if you see the hidden drug references or if you just see a song about a white slave owner raping his black slaves.
Gold coast slave ship bound for cotton fields,
Sold in a market down in new orleans.
Scarred old slaver knows hes doin alright.
Hear him whip the women just around midnight.
Ah brown sugar how come you taste so good
(a-ha) brown sugar, just like a young girl should
A-huh.
Drums beating, cold english blood runs hot,
Lady of the house wonderin where its gonna stop.
House boy knows that hes doin alright.
You should a heard him just around midnight.
Ah brown sugar how come you taste so good
(a-ha) brown sugar, just like a black girl should
A-huh.
I bet your mama was a tent show queen, and all her boy
Friends were sweet sixteen.
Im no schoolboy but I know what I like,
You should have heard me just around midnight.
Ah brown sugar how come you taste so good
(a-ha) brown sugar, just like a young girl should.
I said yeah, I said yeah, I said yeah, I said
Oh just like a, just like a black girl should.
I said yeah, I said yeah, I said yeah, I said
Oh just like, just like a black girl should.
