It showed up on Saturday but I didn't really have time or the inclination to sit and read this weekend. Then on Monday Karl was home and I don't usually sit here with him and ignore him. Yesterday I actually tried to get some stuff done around the house. So I haven't really read very much of it yet, just whatever I could squeeze in while walking the dog.
I stayed away from the leaked material because I actually enjoy reading books. And there was every chance it was just fanfiction and I hate the piss-fuck out of fanfiction. But because the book was leaked it got harder and harder to avoid spoilers. Especially thanks to all the infantile cuntbags who sprained their wittle fingers cranking out spoiler icons. So that in the middle of some dumb community that's completely unrelated to HP in any way there's "XXXX has this happen on XXX page" and icons with literally the last line in the book. OR the idiots who say "off topic, but..." and then launch into a 20 point font paragraph about how so and so did this thing to that other character. So right off the bat I knew what happened to several major characters. And that's sort of taken the wind out of my enjoyment of the book.
I can understand just being the sort of person who likes to know things and doesn't mind spoiling things for yourself. That's fine. I'm like that in some things. I can even understand just thinking it's funny or sad or really fucking pathetic that people get all into the harry potter thing and are so sensitive about it. What I can't really get with is getting off on actively upsetting people because you think it's funny. I've been wracking my brain trying to think of an instance where I went out of my way to ruin something for someone because I thought it would be funny. And I can't think of one. I'm sure it had to happen at some point in time, but I really can't think of a time where my sense of humor (which is pretty fucking nasty at times) was quite that mean.
Anyway, wah wah, I got spoiled, wah wah, etc.
