Yesterday I made chili for the first time in my life. Well, okay, I did make it once before but it doesn't count because I followed a recipe. And it was awful. So this was what I threw together as I went and it was pretty damned good. And it was made with ground turkey breast (so 99% fat free instead of 93% like the turkey with dark meat)and not a speck of additional fat. Even made cornbread with it.
If there is one thing I could request my mother to make for me and let me watch while she made it it would be beef stew with dumplings. I have this huge craving for dumplings cooked in that stew and no clue where to begin, only very vague recollections of how it was put together. I guess I'll experiment at some point.
I have that horrible Highway Star song stuck in my head. Okay, it's not "horrible". There's just this line in there about his girlfriend that's like.. "I love her... I need her... I seed her". And it grosses me out every time. I'm going to drink it away. That works, right?
